24-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the well marked low pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over South Bay of Bengal around 25-11-2024. Thereafter, it is likely continue to move Northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu (India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next 2 days. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea, South Bay and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Early Warning For Weather Events During The Pre Monsoon Season

1.         During the Pre Monsoon Season (from April to before the onset of Southwest Monsoon into Myanmar), strong wind accompanied with hails, thunder, lightning and isolated rain or thundershowers are likely in the afternoon or evening in the whole country due to the unstable air conditions and convective cloud by gradually rising day temperatures. Surface wind speed in strong wind may reach (35)mph to (40)mph.

2.         Public is advised to take necessary awareness with the Weather events during the Pre Monsoon Season (from April to before the onset of Southwest Monsoon into Myanmar).
