26-12-2024:According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India) still persists. It is likely to weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours. Weather is partly cloudy over the Westcentral and Southwest Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State. Rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Yangon Regions and (Northern and Eastern) Shan State, scattered in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Chin, Kayin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon Region. Day temperatures were 5°C above May average temperatures in Kayin and Mon States, 3°C to 4°C above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Bago, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions and 2°C above May average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Southern Shan, Rakhine States and 2°C below May average temperature in Chin State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were observed 42.0°C each in Minbu, Taungdwingyi and Pyay, 41.6°C in Chauk, 41.5°C in Magway, 41.3°C in Aunglan, 41.0°C  in Ngathaichaung, 40.7°C in Shwekyin, 40.5°C in Ann and 40.3°C each in Nyaung Oo and Mawlamyine on 11-5-2024. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.35 inches in Yangon(Mayangon), 2.76 inches in Yangon(Botahtaung), 1.89 inches in Yangon(Mingaladon), 1.02 inches in Naungcho, 0.79 inch in Monyin, 0.75 inch in Pinlaung, 0.71 inch in Tamu, 0.54 inch in Kya-In-Seikkyi, 0.51 inch in Kengtung and 0.47 inch in Myawaddy.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 13rd May 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Shan State, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Chin States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be partly cloudy in Magway Region and Rakhine State.

THE CONDITION OFCUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Kayah, Kayin Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight increase of day temperatures in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions and Kachin State.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 13rd May 2024:             Possibility of isolated light rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is 40%.
