12-12-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the well marked low pressure area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off Sri Lanka Coast ) is crossing near North Sri Lanka coast. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may reach over Tamil Nadu Coast, India, during next 6 hrs. Weather is a few cloud  over the North Bay and East central  bay and partly cloudy to cloudy  over the  Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Deep Depression

According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 730 Nautical miles West-Southwest of CoCo Island (Myanmar), 270 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai (India). The centre pressure of Deep Depression is 1001 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 35 miles per hour.

It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Deep Depression is coded as yellow stage.

Forecast

 It is likely to move North-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a Cyclonic Storm tonight. Thereafter, it may cross near Sri Lanka Coast and reach to Tamil Nadu Coast(India) during next 2 days.

Due to the Deep Depression, rain are likely to be isolated to scatted in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah States from 28-11-2024 to 30-11-2024.
