Deep Depression
According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 670 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 200 Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai and 185 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Puducherry (India). The centre pressure of Deep Depression is 999 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 35-40 miles per hour.
It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Deep Depression is coded as yellow stage.
Forecast
It is likely to move Northwestwards and futher intensify into a Cyclonic storm during next 12 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to continue to move Northwestwards and cross North Tamil Nadu- Puducherry Coasts(India) around 30-11-2024.
Due to the Deep Depression, rain are likely to be isolated to scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls from this afternoon to 30-11-2024.
