Southwest monsoon is likely to set in Southern Myanmar areas during (16-21) of May. During this period, monsoon will be slight to moderate. Weather will be partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
Rain Conditions and Rainy Days
Rain or thundershowers will be likely above normal in Kachin State, below normal in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan (South and East), Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and about normal in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan, Chin States.
Rainy days are expected about (6) to (7) days in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State, (4) to (5) days in Mandalay Region and Shan (North and South), Chin, Kayin, Mon States and (1) to (3) days in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Eastern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah States.

Day temperature will be about normal of May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin State and (1.5°C) above normal of May average temperature in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon states.
