30-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Westwards. It is centered at about 765 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 45 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai and 40 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Puducherry (India). The centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 994 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 50 miles per hour. Weather is cloudy over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Ayeyarwady Region, scattered in Lower Sagaing and Yangon Regions, Kachin and (Nothern and Eastern) Shan States, fairly widespread in Magway Region, Southern Shan, Chin and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay and Bago Regions, Mon State and isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Kayin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Maudon (5.43)inches, Madauk (5.16)inches, Shwegyin and Paung (4.33)inches each, Monywa (Kyehmon) (3.62)inches, Shwegwun (3.35)inches, Belin (2.72)inches, Theinzayet (2.68)inches, Yay (2.29)inches, Kyobinkauk (2.17)inches, Myingyan (2.12) inches, Phyu and Kyeikmayaw (1.96)inches each, Hlaingbwe (1.85)inches, Pakokku and Pyawbwe (1.65)inches each and Tatkon (1.50)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 25th August, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Upper Sagaing, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin and Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Chin, Rakhine and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway and Bago Regions, Mon State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of decrease of rain in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions.
