30-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Westwards. It is centered at about 765 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 45 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai and 40 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Puducherry (India). The centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 994 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 50 miles per hour. Weather is cloudy over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Magway, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Eastern Shan, Chin and Kayah Sataes and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Kachin and Rakhine States and isolated heavy falls in Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Myitkyina (8.07)inches, Putao (7.95)inches, Taungkok (6.38)inches, Hainggyikyun (4.53)inches, Maungdaw (3.74)inches, Sittwe (3.07) inches, Kyaukpyu (2.99) inches, Gwa (2.83)inches, Pauk (2.68)inches, Paung (2.52)inches and Machanbaw (2.48)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 16th July, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Shan (East and South) State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, Northern Shan, Chin and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of decrease of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
