SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, Northern Shan and Kayah States, scattered in Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Yangon Regions, Kachin and Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kyauktaw (15.67)inches, Myauk U (9.49)inches, Paletwa (6.81)inches, Homalin (6.34)inches, Maungdaw (4.17) inches, Ann (3.59)inches, Hkamti (2.76)inches and Sittwe (2.44)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 6th July, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin and Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Kayin and Mon States and scattered in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Seas will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Bago, Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States.
