30-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Westwards. It is centered at about 765 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 45 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai and 40 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Puducherry (India). The centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 994 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 50 miles per hour. Weather is cloudy over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Naypyidaw and Chin State, isolated in Upper Sagaing, Magway,  Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarway and Taninthayi Regions, Shan and Mon States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Okkan (0.98) inch, Tharrawady (0.71) inch, Kawthong (0.62) inch and Coco Island (0.51) inch.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 16th October, 2015: weather will be  partly cloudy in  Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State, rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Taninthayi Region and Chin State and   isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Slight decrease of rain in the whole country.
