30-11-2024: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 755 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 50 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai and 55 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Puducherry (India). Weather is cloudy over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Nay Pyi Taw, Taninthayi Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay and Bago Regions, Shan, Kayin and Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Yangon Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kungyangon (4.02)inches, Central Yangon (3.30)inches, Mawlaik and Kalay (3.18)inches each, Homalin (3.03)inches, Tagaung (2.95)inches, Shwesaryan (2.65)inches, Bago (2.48)inches and Nyaunglaybin (2.05)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. It may further intensify during next (24)hours. Monsoon is weak in the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weather is partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 9th October, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Taninthayi Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay and Bago Regions, Shan, Kayin and Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region and Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin and Chin States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Sagaing Region, Shan, Chin and Rakhine States.
