23-11-2024: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area has formed over East Equatorial India Ocean and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over South Bay of Bengal around 25-11-2024. Thereafter, its likely to move Northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu(India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next 2 days. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kayah State, scattered in Taninthayi Region and Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region and Mon State and isolated heavy falls in Kachin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Mawlamyine (4.38)inches, Putao (4.14)inches, Chaungsone (3.89)inches, Hkamti and Kalay (3.66)inches each, Mawlaik (3.11)inches, Paung (2.76)inches and Tamu (2.28) inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak in the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 8th September, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi Regions, Kayah State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times Deltaic and off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30 - 35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Shan State.
