SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway and Taninthayi Regions, Kayah State, scattered in Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin and Shan States, fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady Region and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Rakhine and Mon States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kyaukpyu (4.01)inches, Kyeikkhame (3.54)inches, Ann and Thaton (2.75)inches each, Bago (2.60)inches, Chaungsone (2.44)inches, Mudon (2.36)inches and Belin (2.09)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate in the North Bay and weak in the Andaman Sea and elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 18th August, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Taninthayi Region and Kayah State, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Shan State, fairly widespread in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Kachin and Rakhine States. STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters.
