SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Magway Region. Rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Mandalay, Ayeyarwady Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing Region and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Ragions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (7.60) inches in Belin, (7.37) inches in Hkamti, (7.05)inches in Chaungsone, (6.45) inches in Thaton, (5.47) inches in Maungdaw, (4.88) inches in Paungbyin, (4.72) inches in Kyeikmayaw, (4.57) inches in Launglon, (4.49) inches in Ann, (4.13) inches in Paung, (3.94) inches in Kyeikkhame, (3.62)inches in Myauk U, (3.39) inches in Coco-Island and (3.11) inches each in Dawei and Kawthaung.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 27th August, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions, fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady Region and widespread in the remaining Ragions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7 – 9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon- Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
